Robert Harris talked to a packed house about his new book – An Officer and a Spy.  He explained how the idea had come about following a meeting with Roman Polanski on a completely different project.  Having seen lots of books on the Dreyfus affair on Mr Polanski’s bookshelf, Robert began researching the subject and decided to write a book from the perspective of a particular character, Georges Picquart.

To illustrate some of his points, Robert read some passages from the book.

The talk was fascinating, with many of the audience already committed Robert Harris fans, and lots of questions and debate.
